Presented
by WJCT in Jacksonville, The New Keeping You In Stitches
informs and instructs both novices and experienced sewers
alike. In the third season Cowan talked with experts on
lingerie and fake fur and visited a bridal shop. Just
to name a few. The 13 week series included: Rock-A-Bye
Baby, focusing on the joys of doll sewing and collecting;
A Dillar, A Dollar, highlighting school time sewing; Baa,
Baa Black Sheep, which is all about wool. Cowan's engaging
took nursery rhymes to capture the attention of sewers
and non-sewers alike.
The fourth season continues this tradition of recognizing
the abilities and limitations of viewers. Sally sews along
with "the girls", three women who represent all sewers
and their individual sewing aptitudes. Her upbeat style
and sense of humor gives a unique character to the weekly
series. The fourth series is called "Sew Away We Go."
This will address mini-vacations--near and afar. Included
will be titles such as: Getting Around in Style; The Quickest
Getaway; Stay at Home Vacation; Collecting Memories and
more. Naturally there will be sewing projects that tie
in with each of these shows. This series will be available
in the spring. Let your PBS stations know you are looking
forward to seeing it.
